Armstrong Flooring

Rebrand for a legacy company
Brand Identity, Design System
Designed at imre

For over 150 Years, Armstrong Flooring has been a leader in floor manufacturing and design. As part of their evolution and separation from their parent company, Armstrong Flooring sought a new identity that holds true to their legacy while embracing their future.

Dating back to its founding, the Armstrong “A” was first used as an identifier on top of the cork plugs they manufactured. The customized new glyph acknowledges the original circle "A" while creating a more distinct and ownable icon that seamlessly integrates with the full wordmark.

Other visual elements such as icons and product marks were given an update to match the style of the new identity and reinforce it’s clarity.

I’m a Graphic Designer based in New York City. My work has a focus on brand identity—working with brands to create effective design systems through strategy and research. I also have a range of experience in advertising, web, print, and environments.

Currently, I’m working as a Senior Designer at Prophet. Before New York, I lived and worked in Baltimore, where I received a BFA in Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

I’m always open to new projects and opportunities. Feel free to email me by clicking here. Thanks for checking out my site!
