Central Apartments

Wayfinding for modern living
Wayfinding, Programming, Icon Design
Designed at Ashton Design

Central is a mixed-use development project in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Centered around the modern residential units, this 70,000-sq-ft building offers 243 units, 15,000-sq-ft of ground retail, and impressive amenities. The signage created for the building was inspired by the bold, contemporary geometry of the apartment building's exterior and the industrial-modern aesthetic of the interior.

Alexey Ikonomou, Creative Director
Grosvenor, Architect

Composed of framed layers of translucent acrylic, the framework of the signage is revealed and utilized as a grid to organize the wayfinding information.

I’m a Graphic Designer based in New York City. My work has a focus on brand identity—working with brands to create effective design systems through strategy and research. I also have a range of experience in advertising, web, print, and environments.

Currently, I’m working as a Senior Designer at imre. Before New York, I lived and worked in Baltimore, where I received a BFA in Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

I’m always open to new projects and opportunities. Feel free to email me by clicking here. Thanks for checking out my site!
