Charles Street

Baltimore’s original main street
Brand Identity, Print
Designed at Ashton Design

Charles Street is one of Baltimore’s oldest and most significant streets. The street serves as a corridor to the city— connecting residential, art, historic, and business districts.
Michael Ponton, Designer
Jenny Hoffman, Creative Director
The street spans through the center of the city. This feature is directly interpreted in the logo by the wordmark passing through the city icon.
The logo can showcase various landmarks that symbolize the different neighborhoods the street passes through. Each neighborhood is assigned a color to represent its unique personality.

Founders Grotesk is used as the primary typeface for the identity. It’s historic relevance and approachable look make it a perfect match.

I’m a Graphic Designer based in New York City. My work has a focus on brand identity—working with brands to create effective design systems through strategy and research. I also have a range of experience in advertising, web, print, and environments.

Currently, I’m working as a Senior Designer at Ashton Design. Before New York, I lived and worked in Baltimore, where I received a BFA in Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

I’m always open to new projects and opportunities. Feel free to email me by clicking here. Thanks for checking out my site!
